Recap: Okuda – “The Plastic Island” @ Mirus Gallery (Denver)

Today marks the last day of Okuda's solo show at Denver's Mirus Gallery entitled The Plastic Island. Including logos of corporations and brands with his signature characters in colorful compositions, the Spanish artist takes aim at the role of plastics in our consumerist society and its deleterious effects on the environment. Working with the geometric patterned style and vibrant palette that has become his trademark, the new body of work features both paintings and sculptural pieces that event incorporate actual plastic products.
