Last night I got to celebrate a great event I worked on at Boston’s famed jeweler Shreve, Crump and Low called Festive Tables. Seven Boston designers were chosen to design tablescapes using the fabulous selection of china, glassware, flatware and accessories available at Shreves. I decided that I needed some inspiration for my table and went with the concept of how I would dress a table for a dinner with my style icons (Kelly Wearstler, Gwyneth Paltrow, Diane Von Furstenberg and Martha Stewart). The china I picked was a mix of modern and very traditional and uber-feminine. My fabulous workroom, PMK Designs in Boston, whipped up this magnificent tablecloth using a Premiere Prints zebra fabric and solid purple banding and matching purple napkins. I used a cluster of various sized gurgling cod vases (a signature Shreve’s item) to hold hydrangeas, white cabbage and tulips with a huge white orchid courtesy of Winston Flowers in the center! Photographer Binita Patel shared her images with me to show you!
The GORGEOUS china- and little gifties (had to get greek key in there somehow!)
The faux invite I made featuring the famous Shreve’s gurgling cod vases in silhouette.
I created these napkin rings using strands of faux pearls and vintage style sunburst brooches.
I used lucite frames to hold placecards which were images of each woman.
I draped the chandelier in more faux pearls to really emphasize the femininity and bling factor.
I loved it. :)
And I’m in the window! It’ll be there until the end of November so if you are on Boylston street stop in and take a gander!
