Off Andrew and I skipped to the Domino book party on Saturday, after a yummy lunch and some window shopping. It was held at Louis Boston, the venerable star on Newbury Street’s crown. Louis is a small, boutique-like “department store”, selling the finest of clothing, accessories and housewares- akin to a funkier, fashion forward cousin of Bergdorfs, perhaps. It’s housed in the old New England Museum of Natural History building (stunning) and was the perfect setting for the party.
The visual designers there (who are amazing at what they do) painted this huge banner representing the cover of the book, which delighted the Domino team to no end (I think they were going to try to buy/steal it!) Champagne was passed around, and appetizers that really pleased the hubby, and the resident DJ was keeping the vibe more “party” and less “book”. I quickly snagged my copy and ran over to have it signed by Dara Caponigro, one of the editors. Funnily enough, when we got home the new issue of Domino was waiting in my mailbox! You can only imagine how I spent the afternoon- pouring through both- which are fabulous! The book is like a dictionary of the rooms featured in the magazine and has a multitude of decorating tips and tricks. It is well worth purchasing ( you can get it here for 30% off!). Not to mention, the cover is so pretty you’ll want to have it to decorate your coffee table with!
