Yes, you read that correctly. JCPenney.
The previously unhip budget retailer known more for stirrup pants and lace cafe curtains has revamped and become a great resource for good design on the cheap. As I preach often, making your home look great does not require a movie star sized budget. In fact, I find it far more gratifying to rise to the challenge and make jaws drop when people find out I found such great things at places like, well, JCPenney! They have long been my secret go-to for great custom window treatments that are light on the wallet- but now have so much more! So here we go…

A great pair of lanterns for under $40 -charming on a patio table or entryway console.

A fabulous sunburst mirror which would look great above a fireplace.

You’ve seen these in Restoration Hardware for over $200 each….this version will only set you back $79! And this very of-the-moment chandelier also a fraction of the cost of some other home accessory retailers.

A fantastic floor lamp for under $80 (on order for my living room!)

Imagine these chairs reupholstered in a fun modern colored fabric like bamboo lattice or zebra linen. At about $100 per chair, you cannot go wrong! The lines are vintage looking and so gorgeous!

One of the best looking futons I’ve seen in a long time-great in a home office or guest room for the occasional overnight guest!
And for you to rest your head in style every night, an upholstered headboard in your choice of fabrics for $299 for a queen. Or splurge a little and get the upholstered bed for $600 (a far cry from the prices Crate and Barrel is charging for a simiar item!)

A very cute retro inspired outdoor cafe set in yellow or mint green

And the aformentioned budget window treatments. Modern panels in linen:

Clean grommet tops available in a variety of colors:

and even some very mod silhouette shades in a gorgeous robins egg blue.
