Familial Renovation

I saw this article in Sunday’s Boston Globe Magazine and wan intrigued. Two sisters bought a brick townhouse in Jamaica Plain (my hood!) and renovated it top to bottom into two separate units for them to live in with their significant others. I dream of some day doing a gut renovation and have the ability to pick every single detail and this seems like an interesting, economical (and somewhat dangerous) way to do it- family and money is always sticky! Not to mention adding contractors and construction to that! I don’t think any of my brothers would be keen on doing something like this. We’d probably kill each other and then torch the joint. But I really appreciate the detail, design and whimsy that the sisters created here!
