Fashion Friday: How I’d Dress the Stars for the Oscars.

I always like to review red carpet styles after major awards shows, but this year I wanted to challenge myself and play stylist to the stars for the upcoming Academy Awards! This was really hard, but really fun.  I tried to mostly select looks from the Pre-Fall 2015 runways on, but there are some looks from Spring Couture 2015 and Spring Ready-to-Wear 2015 too.  Let me know what you think!

Reese Witherspoon in Elie Saab.  I love this grey gown with it’s deep V, cap sleeves and feathery skirt.  I think she could totally rock this.

Julianne Moore in Armani Prive.  I picture her in structured looks and while this one is simple if you look close there is lots of interesting detail, like that awesome belt.  With an amazing updo and bold earrings I think she’d kill it in this gown!

Rosamund Pike in Lela Rose.  I feel like she really like prints, and this dress just LOOKS like it was made for her.

Marion Cotillard in Zac Posen.  She’s such a stunner, I think going simple and red with a dramatic updo and smokey eye would be gorgeous.

Emma Stone in Valentino.  The second I saw this in the couture runway I pictured Emma.  It’s youthful but glamorous and that color would look insanely good with her red hair!

Laura Dern in Naeem Khan.  This sparkley sheath would look incredible on this statuesque actress!

Felicity Jones in Matthew Williamson.  I picked this black and silver gown from British designer Williamson because I think she would look great in a sleeker line and helter neckline (with hair up of course).

Kiera Knightley in Naeem Khan. She’s made it clear she is not comfortable wearing anything form fitting while pregnant, but that doesn’t mean she has to go as frumpy as she has been.  This loose Naeem Khan is perfect for her petite frame and new belly! Big earrings and a soft bohemian updo to finish it off.

Sienna Miller in J. Mendel.  I think we are going to see a lot of rust red tones on the red carpet, and this color and style would look SO awesome with her new edgy bob and lithe frame.  Complimented with funky bracelets and glowy makeup and a slight tan I think she’d stun in this one.

Cate Blanchett in Elie Saab.  She is the most stunning beauty and I would LOVE to see her in this look complete with fur collar because, well, she just seems royal.

Luipta Nyongo in Naeem Khan.  Yes, this model looks a bit like her, but even so I’ve been DYING to see this beauty in shimmery gold!  I think this would be insane on her!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Cushnie et Ochs.  Goop has been into structured gowns lately and this one is PERFECT, complete with the arm cuffs because you know she has to do something cool. A sleek ponytail would look cool as well.

Naomi Watts in Jenny Packham.  I LOVE this dress for her- it’s so unique!

Amy Adams in Elie Saab.  I know she just wore light blue to the Golden GLobes, but it wasn’t the RIGHT blue. This is! And I love the looser, deep V style on her.

Jessica Chastain in Jason Wu.  Ahhh, red hair and emerald green- the best combo! I can see her in this with loose waves and super dramatic diamond chandelier earrings and a dramatic smokey eye!

Meryl Streep in Jenny Packham- I love the idea of her wearing a sweater with a ball skirt- topped with a super funky statement necklace!

Jennifer Lawrence in J. Mendel.  No more Dior gowns for this fun lady, I want to see her in something youthful, colorful and fun. With a red lip and turquoise earrings she would look SO perfect!

Charlize Theron in Zuhair Murad.  I feel like this gown was MADE for Charlize!

Hmm, we could make a drinking game out of this- if any of these dresses make it onto the red carpet on anyone, one sip of wine- if a star wears one of my actual picks- throw back a whole glass. (Not that I’m advocating alcoholism, just some good, clean, cabernet-drenched fun.)
