Many of you who follow me on Instagram asked about my outfit in a picture I posted of us on Thanksgiving.   This holiday we decided to do the “casual dress up” for our small, cold Connecticut turkey day in fabulous finds from J. McLaughlin.  I always trend towards preppy during holiday season, something about it brings out the Miss Porter’s graduate in me. I opted for an amazingly comfortable and flattering zip neck dress (that I now want in every color) with boots and a hint of fur and Andrew went the typical “dude” route in a plaid flannel paired with a a zip neck sweater and grey dress pants.  We’ll probably rock something very similar for Christmas too…

On me: Dress // Scarf // Boots (old Jcrew, these are similar) // Sunglasses // Bracelet

On Andrew: Sweater // Shirt // Pants // Socks // Sunglasses

On Oliver: A look of disdain.

Ugh, get a room.

I know, we’re so annoying.  But we sure did look shaaahp (as we say in Boston).

I carried this clutch which I’m pretty much obsessed with. Looks great with denim too and the perfect size to actually hold your stuff and has a chain shoulder strap to free up your hands for cocktail holding (v.v. important). Unfortunately it appears to have sold out already! :(  It’s back online!!!

Andrew’s favorite detail- skull Christmas socks. The man loves a good funky sock.
