I said I was “signed off” for the rest of the week but then these pictures came in from my friend Amanda of her nursery that we worked on together and I wanted to post them! Amanda is basically a decorator in her own right, and has such a good eye, but I helped where I could with fabrics and accessories.
She had wanted to base the room on this gorgeous Tiffany blue cashmere baby sweater she got in Paris, and we found some great paint in the exact right color. She had an old dresser from her childhood painted glossy white and added modern drawer pulls and look at how chic it looks as a changing table! Paired with a modern white gourd lamp it looks sweet yet not juvenile. The galvanized metal letters I found at Anthropologie and add a little “tough guy” texture to the room- Cole is, after all, a boy. Amanda and her mom MADE the curtains and bedding themselves (and I thought I was crafty, my goodness). The fabric we picked for the curtains is subtle yet stunning (see detail photo). And I thought the furry rug would add interest to the wall to wall carpeting (plus, babies LOVE the feeling!).
It’s almost as cute as Cole himself- but that’s hard to beat!
