Lee at Home.

I am hoping that this post, my zillionth on Lee Kleinhelter, comes of more as sincere admiration and less as “single white female”… I just think she is a genius!
Her new home is featured in the current issue of Cottage Living and shows off her magnificent ability to make a house with only white walls feel cozy and yet totally chic and fun. I always paint walls colors, even if it’s the lightest shade of beige, so I am impressed with her call to use only white and bring color in with the soft goods and accessories. It totally works!

One of Lee’s “rules” is to use the same fabric on the headboard, bed skirt and drapes. I typically would find this too matchy-matchy and it reminds me of my childhood room with matching Laura Ashley bedding and balloon roman shades. But look how sleek it looks! I’m converted!

Seeing her outdoor firepit makes me want to pack my bags andmove to Atlanta, where homes are SO much mroe affordable than here in Boston. Droolworthy, no?

Some things tohelp you get Lee’s look for less:

Sunflower mirror or a resin deer head

Graphic window panels and lots of jute rugs!

Overlapping squares headboard and tufted upholstered headboard

Woven pendant lamps and yellow pendant lamp

A chair with clean lines mixed with some rustic wood accents.

A modern side table and a vintage inspired coffee table

Ceramic garden stools
and a recycled green cotton desk set

Graphic fabrics from Premier Prints
