My Favorite Boston Shop
I love taking my Bostonian friends to this shop if they haven’t been here, because the beauty and style just overwhelms them and it’s so fun to see their faces light up! I have been perusing (and only sometimes having the luxury of purchasing from) Hudson in the South End since the day it opened. The proprietress, (I love that word), Jill Goldberg is one of Boston’s most interesting designers and taste makers. She spent some time living in California, and brought that aesthetic back into her work on the east coast- adding a bit of SoCal laid back luxe to everything around her. Much needed, especially during the gray, frozen fingered days of winter. To boot, she’s incredibly sweet and helpful! She carries some of my fave lines- Bungalow 5, Oly Studio, Madeline Weinrib, Dash & Albert, Bongenre plus vintage finds, fabulous scented candles, books…even candy. But the best news of all? She’s opening ANOTHER Hudson in Wellesley! A bigger space (and with more parking!) My prayers have been answered.
Even her website charms me. Not only is the store itself something to behold, but the creativity of using vintage metal and wood letters, stamps and the like to form the titles of the pages on the site? Simply lovely.
