Stylish Boston Hotel for Less.
For those of you planning a visit to Boston, here’s a little tip from someone who loves well designed hotels but doesn’t like paying for them- The Inn at St. Botolph. A sister hotel to the fancy schmancy XV Beacon, the inn has the looks (designed by the great Celeste Cooper) and the style of it’s expensive counterpart, but not the price tag. Designed to serve as an extended stay option for those on business or long visit, it feels more like a gorgeous Back Bay pied-a-terre than hotel. It’s on one of the prettiest streets in Boston, St. Botolph, and straddles the Back Bay and South End (which is exactly where you want to be, for those not in the know).
The design is a great modern take on New England traditionalism. The four poster bed, but done in steel, the sunburst mirror, a bevy of hounds tooth and stripes- all reflect the mood of city, proud of it’s traditional roots yet chic and on trend. Ms. Cooper even threw in some Wenrib Amagansett pillows to thrill you design mavens- just don’t try to shove one in your suitcase, as tempting as it may be.
