Bump Style: 38 Weeks

DSC_4367

These last couple of weeks have been fashionably difficult.  Between just not feeling up to wearing anything complicated and the 90+ degree heat, it’s taken everything in me not to just throw on athletic shorts and a tank and call it a day. Because I have places to go and people to see, I need to get myself together a little.  I’ve been either living in a tank dress, or one of these two outfit combinations.  The hilarious part of the whole scenario is that while this maternity tank is a little tight, both pairs of pants/shorts are actually non-maternity.  The good news about this is that I can wear most of these fun pieces after I have the babe as well.

I promised last week that you’d see a bump pick this week, and I will not disappoint.  I’m even going all in with a profile view.

outfit details

Third trimester outfits can be both comfortable and still really stylish.  Everywhere I go, I get comments about being so ‘put-together’ for being this late into the pregnancy, but really, it’s all an illusion!

Outfit No. 1 – Non Maternity Statement Pants

This outfit is basically pajamas. The silky pants from Anthropologie are a low rise with a very forgiving elastic waist.  I roll them once so that they fit up under the bump and throw on a basic tank top.  The necklace, shoes, and bag all work together to make this even more of an ‘outfit’, which is what warrants people thinking I’m actually dressing up rather than just wearing my PJs.  My paisley pattern is sold out, but they have the same exact pants still in a geo pattern which are really cool and I like them more than mine.  Huarache flats look like fancy sandals, but don’t require bending, buckling, tying, or zipping.  Plus they’re a great price.  My go-to statement necklace is this beauty from Stella & Dot which is so so versatile.

Outfit No. 2 – Non Maternity Statement Kimono

Also known as athletic shorts undercover.  Because you know a kimono does not have to be a maternity piece.  But really neither are my shorts.  They’re just a totally basic black elastic athletic short.  I honestly just  bought these and colored in the athletic logo with a black permanent marker so that I felt like I could wear them in a non-athletic fashion (insert crying/laughing emoji).  I case coloring on your clothes isn’t your style, I also linked to a legit maternity black short in the ‘shop the post’ slides below.  But onto more fashionable things.  Fun kimonos are essential for pregnancy.  Just throw on with any solid colored anything and you’re done.  They’re even perfect in all weather (paired with leggings, this will probably be a fall go-to for me post baby).

Again, I paired the basic blacks with some cool accessories. The huarache flats have been a fashion go-to this summer for everyone (pregnant or not) and I love that they’ll still be very relevant into the fall.  Also, do you remember my DIY straw pom clutch?  How cute is it with this outfit?

These third trimester outfit ideas are easy and best of all, can be worn post baby as well (or just for regular non-pregnant folks).  I envision a lot of these pieces carrying me into the fall!
