Choosing a 2015 Christmas Theme

tonjeCan you believe that we’re just barley a week and a half away from the start of the holidays?  I know I mentioned it last week, but it’s been such a beautifully warm (and long!) fall, that it doesn’t quite feel like cooler weather and snow are right around the corner… but they are!

You guys know that each year, I pick a specific theme for my Christmas decorations.  I do this mostly to challenge myself to be thoughtful about what I buy for the holiday rather than just getting carried away during every visit to Target and buy everything in sight.

A theme forces me to edit and curate rather than just go Christmas crazy.  This year, my theme was chosen for two reasons.  Firstly, because I saw a beautiful bolt of black and white buffalo check at the fabric store and immediately knew it would be a part of my decor.  Secondly, because I’ll be on vacation for a big part of December and wanted something simple to pull off in the few weeks that I have to decorate before my vacay.

So without further ado!  This year’s Christmas theme is….

BLACK & WHITE.  Haha, are you shocked?  It’s not a huge departure from my basic decor, but it is going to be a really fun theme to carry throughout the season with my ornaments, gift wrap, stockings, centerpieces, cocktail parties, tree, and much more.

I have already got my entire season of DIYs lined up and can’t wait to begin posting them!

I know it’s a TAD early, but I want to give you all enough time to be able to do any of this projects this year as well!

So, a Very Early Merry Christmas to you and we’ll see you back here tomorrow with my a semi-holiday post (hint, it can be used for Thanksgiving AND Christmas!)

Have a great week!
