I have shared so much of our housing plans in the past few weeks and although I’ve mentioned the dining room several times, I have yet to share our plans for it! The ‘before’ of the dining room is just a little bland, and I was excited to just inject a little something fun into the room. Although I wanted to inject some fun, I still want it to be a clean palette with a little indigo to play off the blues we have going on in the living room as well as some green to give it a little bit of a bohemian feel. I worked again with my friend, Lacey, of Green Door Design Co. to come up with a plan. I’ve said it several times, but I truly believe that it’s fairly difficult to be objective about your own stuff, so bringing in an outside eye is so helpful.
The top photo was one of my biggest inspirations because of the color scheme. This beautiful dining nook from New Darling mixes black with darker wood tones, white walls, and a gold fixture. Four things that I’d like to build my dining room around.
This same black/white/brown/green scheme goes on in a few other my other inspiration spaces (you can also see them all on Pinterest!)
Based on these things, Lacey built a board of goodies which will help me get the look. The table and chairs are two things I already own, and there may be a diy or two in my future as well (wink).
