Try this at home: dip dyed furniture
*photographed by John Cullen for House & Home
I have been so super busy this week it is unbelievable! I have 4 vendors in the office from China, we’ve been having long business dinners every night and haven’t had a spare moment!
During a lunch today and I managed to feign a bathroom break and I actually took 5 minutes of much needed downtime to pop over to House & Home, and found this photo with a faux dip dye effect on furniture. Both the chair and the coat rack have a dual color effect that has a lot of impact! The items are not color blocked because the color doesn’t cut off at an obvious transitional point in the piece, but the color extends onto a less expected section of the furniture, which I absolutely love.
I think the chair especially is a really fresh way to work a graphic color statement into a room – notice the little ‘dipped’ legs too! Click on the picture above to link to the House & Home site for a full tutorial on how to do this yourself at home.
I love it and think that I might try it for an accent chair in my living room…. What do you thinks?? Do you love it or hate it?
